Breath of fresh air
I just read this article and it is a breath of fresh air. I kind of get into a “must plan everything mode” and it can be exhausting.
This article helps to remind me that kids aren’t looking for the perfect craft. My oldest son loves the Brain Quest books I gave him and actually asked if he could get more for Christmas. He picks them up and does them on his own. He actually likes them.
Not so sure my younger son likes the Jolly Phonics books we bought for him. He is 4 and if learning isn’t fun, it isn’t going to happen.
I guess I need to not get stressed about my oldest son not riding his bike yet by himself or tying his shoe yet. I know if I make it a task to check off, he isn’t going to have it. Well, I have tried that so I know it doesn’t work.
Anyway, here’s the article I am talking about below.
