Do yourself a favor
Please stop comparing yourself to other moms. Yes, I am a hypocrite, but I am getting better at not focusing on what others appear to do better than me.
Why do I ask of this favor?
We are never comparing apples to apples.
Kids have different personalities, kids are different ages etc. I could go on and on with this.
Most importantly, there is just one YOU. Your strengths may be different than the mom you secretly admire. What you do really well at, she may flounder with on a daily basis.
Try to start by focusing on what you do well. I know, it is so easy to say but why not sweep that under the rug to focus on what I need to fix?
Well, odds are you are actually doing an amazing job and your son/daughter loves you more than you will ever know (just like you love him/her.
In this day and age, we get so caught up in what we perceive others have that we think we need as well.
Remember, you kids don’t need the coolest Pinterest birthday cake. They are not comparing you to the crafty moms who always look like they have their acts together. They want to be loved, laugh, and they probably want to play with your garbage.
Next time you think you are failing, take a moment to remind yourself that you are truly amazing.
