Take time to Relax

Hi everyone! I think it has been ages since I wrote a blog post. I just wanted to write a quick one before I get back to my to do list. I am going back to work on Monday. I am a bit of a stress ball (probably an understatement), but I am excited. Both of my boys started going to daycare full-time this week. My oldest was going three days a week before, and he is adjusting just fine. My youngest, well, it has been a rough week for him. It literally breaks my heart when I drop him off in the morning. I know it will be a hard transition, but it will be nice for him to be interacting with more adults and kids. His separation anxiety is extremely high, and this should be good for him. Well, I hope so.

Anyway, I have been running around trying to get ready for my new job. Yesterday, I just needed a break. I decided to take a short bath. Yes, I had a million other things to be doing, but I decided I need to take a few minutes to relax. This is something I don’t ever seem to do anymore. I assume most parents with one or more kids don’t do it much either. Who am I kidding, I wasn’t great at relaxing before I had kids.

I realized yesterday that it is important to relax, even just for a few minutes. Before I had kids, when I would relax, it would be for a longer period of time. I understand that you have to relax when you get the chance, even if it’s just for a brief moment.

Parenting Tip #9 Even if you can only relax for a brief moment, take that time to relax. If you can carve even 5 minutes into your day to take break, it is helpful. Your kids will probably appreciate it too.Bubble bath

  • I was concerned about both you and Jackson. Definitely a difficult adjustment!!! Whenever the adjustment has to be made, it will always be difficult. Good idea to take a few moments to relax. Hugs!
