5 Months in Omaha, Nebraska

Well, I can’t believe that the Lewis crew moved to Omaha, Nebraska exactly five months ago. The time has flown by so quickly. In some ways it feels like we have lived here for a year already but yet it also feels like we just moved here. There was a lot of change on top of change. Although I am up for twist and turns, it was not easy to adjust to all of the changes. I guess I was in a haze at times. I think the time I left my wallet at the local grocery store was not a high point for myself. I also managed to drive my husband crazy in the process. I learned you just can’t force yourself to always be on top of everything. Well, I am just happy I found my wallet.

Since life moves so quickly, especially when you have two sweet little boys who are always on the go, I figure it was time to reminisce a bit about how things have changes since we moved.

Biggest changes:

  • My husband starting a new job at a new company
  • My oldest son going to a new school and only going 3 days a week instead of 5
  • My youngest going from being in daycare to being home with me
  • Becoming a SAHM (Stay at home mom)for myself and adjusting to the changes of not going to an office 5 days a week

Biggest accomplishments:

  • My youngest son becoming an all star walking boy
  • My oldest son is using the potty more and more (hooray!)
  • My oldest son hasn’t killed my youngest son when they are home together Monday and Tuesday with myself
  • My husband getting comfortable in his new role
  • I joined Heartland Women of Today when I first moved, and I just emailed out my third monthly newsletter that I am designing each month
  • I started my Not a Morning Mom blog on April 1st!
  • Meeting really nice neighbors and Omaha Toddler Mom friends
  • I actually have gotten some in person and phone interviews. I am hopefully to get a full-time or part-time job in the near future

We are really liking Omaha so far. Also, there are so many fun things to do whether it be going to the Zoo or the Children’s museum.
